Arthur F Lower, 66, of 819 Kingsporte Ave. LaPorte, died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 21, at 10:20pm at LaPorte Hospital.
He was born Aug 4 1915, in LaPorte, to John and Lydia (Stahlberg) Lower and had lived here all his life. He had retired from the Civic Auditorium after 16yrs and from Hedwin after 10yrs.
On Oct. 4, 1940, in LaPorte, he married Theresa Lucille Passafume who died Jan. 16, 1947.
On Dec. 5, 1948, in LaPorte, he married Mary Helen Northrop who died Aug. 12, 1957.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Anna Miller of LaPorte and Mrs. Henrietta Schaumber of South Bend, one son, Kenneth F. of LaPorte; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Day of LaPorte and Mrs. Ralph (Mary) Bobo of Grovertown, Ind. and one brother, Austin of LaPorte. One daughter, Mrs. Caroline Bishop, one sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 1:30pm Wednesday at the Haverstock Funeral Home with Dr. Ben Hershberger officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday and until the time of the services Wednesday. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery.
