Benjamin Morrison
Benjamin Franklin Morrison, 87, Rutledge, died at his home, southeast of Rutledge, Sunday, May 3, at 12:30 p.m.
He was born April 14, 1894, rural Rutledge, the son of Benjamin Wade and Minnie Boltz Morrison. He was married in 1914 (sic) to Pansy Stella Clary and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, John Morrison of Agnes, Ore., Ray Morrison of Vancouver, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Melvin (Margaret) Snyder of Rutledge, Mrs. Brownie (Marjorie) Robertson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. Lee (Jean) Davis of Manitowoc, Wis.; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy May Morrison, one son, Austin Morrison in 1950; four brothers, Cecil Morrison, John Morrison, Royal Morrison, Russell Morrison and five sisters, Beulah, Mary, Florence, Mahala, Laura and Ethel.
Mr. Morrison had spent most of his life in Knox County, engaged in farming. He was a member of the Millport Christian Church.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 7, at 2 p.m. at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel, Edina, with the Rev. Ronald Garner officiating. Burial was in the Millport Cemetery, south of Rutledge.
