Wapello - Mrs. Margaret M. Jackson, 84, died at 1:45 a.m. today at her home in Wapello. The body is at the Dudgeon-McCulley funeral home, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday (cst) by Rev. Dean Buster of Grandview. Interment will be at the Harrison cemetery near Wapello. A resident of Wapello for 33 years, she was born April 28, 1877, at Mt. View, IA, the daughter of Saul and Mary Carver Hake. She lived at Ellington, MO, before coming to Wapello. She was married Feb. 24, 1897 (ed: in Butler Co., MO), to Lee Jackson. Survivors include two sons, Otto Jackson of Ellington, and Otis Jackson of St. Louis; eight daughters, Mrs. Ruby Kendall of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Ruth Swanson of Camanche, Mrs. Joyce Allison of Kansas City, Mrs. Zella Woodruff of Wapello, Mrs. Mary Toborg of Muscatine, Mrs. Nola Kelly of Wapello, Mrs. James Paxson of Davenport and Mrs. Selma Thompson of Wapello; one sister, Mrs. Effie Allison of Kansas City; three brothers, Ed Hake of Annapolis, MO, Sam Hake of Wapello, and Anvil Hake of Washington state; and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, and one daughter.
