He was born December 28, 1928 in Tateville, KY, to the late George and Delta Mae (Vaughn) Hollars.
He worked in the Auto Body Industry for over 50 years. He owned Busters Body and Paint Shop on Kilgore Ave. in Muncie for 25 years before he retired to Victorville, CA, where he has lived for the past 10 years.
He is survived by three sons, Buster Hollars Jr. and family of Jacksonville, FL, Robert Hollars and family of Yorktown, and William Arthur Hollars and family of Hesperia, CA; one daughter, Brenda Gore and family of Livingston, TN; one brother, Harold Hollars of Angel Camp, CA; one sister, Virginia Bower of Yorktown; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by is loving wife, Phyllis Hollars; a daughter, Bonita Hollars Toa; a brother, Bill Hollars; and four sisters, Elsie Tony, Ruby Stigall, Crickett Master, and Dolly Wallace.
Cremation will follow with inurnment of cremains at Elm Ridge Memorial Park at a later date. Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 3-4 p.m. Saturday prior to services at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
