Funeral services for Vernon Fricke, 76, of Winnetoon were conducted Monday morning, aug. 28 at Hengstler's Chapel in Creighton with the Rev. Walter Schindler of Christ Lutheran Church, Bazile Mills, officiating. Burial was in the Winnetoon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leonard Boggs, Tom Boggs, Edwin Boggs Jr., Dean Frank and August Hinzmann.
Vernon Owen Fricke died Aug. 25 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital. He had been in poor health for several years.
Mr. Fricke was born May 17, 1896. He married Alvina Kumm May 1, 1921 at the home of the bride's parents. He farmed most of his adult life.
Surviving are his wife, one son, Dr. Don J. Fricke of Bloomfield, two grandchildren and one sister, Miss Emma Fricke of Gothenburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
