Maude Gertrude Tandy was the 9th ( of 11 ) child born to Letitia Lee ( Barber ) & Jeptha Madison Tandy. Maude was born in Davis County, Iowa but moved with her family back to the Fandon area when she was a young girl. She continued to remain in this area the remainder of her life.

Mrs. Maude Coghill, 70, of RR 3, passed away Thursday, June 16, at the Phelps Hospital where she had been a patient since Sunday, June 12th.
Mrs. Coghill was born August 24, 1884 in Iowa, a daughter of Jeptha and Lettie Barber Tandy. She was married to John Coghill on December 25, 1900. Her husband and six children survive : Ershel Eddington, Harold Coghill, Betty Lee Shoopman, and Elza Coghill of Colchester ; Agatha Black and Lester Coghill of Fandon. She leaves a brother, Earl Tandy of Colchester and two sisters, Una Featherland, Augusta and Ida Crickett of Macomb ; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A son, Cecil, and a daughter, Dorthea ; four brothers, Frank, Louis, James,Edgar and three sisters, Anna Rippetoe, Lizzie Steele and Ida Cochran are deceased.
Funeral services were held at two o'clock Saturday, June 18, in the chapel of the Jones Mortuary with Rev. Ernest Louderman officiating. The soloist, Vernon McFadden sang, "Beyond the Sunset" and "Good Night Here" with Estelene Black, accompanist and pianist.
Casket bearers were nephews : Dale and Cale Sullivan, Lawrence Coghill, Preston, Morris and Harry Featherlin.
Burial was in Gibson Cemetery near Fandon.
