Anne was the daughter of Robert Young and Lydia Gould Young. On March 25, 1820 she married Augustus Watts Sexton. They were the parents of Louisa Anna Aletha, Freeman Fairfield, Worthington Lafayette, Almira Evelyn and Anna Evaline.
