Harley Barksdale 41 years old of 1210 N. Sixth St. died at Union Hospital Monday morning at 12:27 o'clock. He is survived by a widow Ada and two sons Howard and Kenneth, two sisters Mrs. Nora B. Lee of Milltown and Mrs. Ada Burshier of Miami Florida and two brothers, Rawley of Livonia and David of Milltown, services will be held Wed. afternoon 2 o'clock with burial in Highland Lawn Cemetery.

Harley married Ursula (Ersa) Lawyer, the daughter of James F. Lawyer and Armilda Jane Brown Lawyer of Terre Haute and had two sons, Kenneth Lavern Barkdsdale b. May 17, 1915 d. June 15, 1940 and Howard Shea Barksdale b. Jan 20, 1916 d. March 28, 1981.

Harley was trained as a baker and he followed that trade most of his life, working in Campbellsburg, Terre Haute and Indianapolis. In the early 1930s he and his younger brother David opened the "Barksdale Brothers Bakery" at 2407 College Ave. in Indianapolis.
