Lessin "Boy" Smith, age 67, died at his residence on July 12, 1962 at his Bayou Benoit residence.
He was a native of Youngsville and a resident of Bayou Benoit for the past two years.
Funeral services will be Monday. He will lay in state at his residence.
He was the son of the late Adam Smith and the late Angelle Watkins Smith. The brother of Adam Smith, III, Claiborne Smith, Paul Gilley Smith, Julien Smith, George Smith and Angeline Smith who all predeceased him.
He leaves behind to mourn him, his wife; Oura Marceaux Smith, his children Wilford Marceaux, Albert Hanks, Johnny Smith, Irvin Smith, Clifton Smith, Allen Smith, Cleveland Smith, Rose Smith, Mary Smith and Laura Smith, all of Bayou Benoit. Also his daughter from his first marriage with Elvy Leleu; Virgia Smith Monceaux and her husband Jimmie Monceaux; Four Grandchildren; Farley Monceaux, Calvin Monceaux, Carl Monceaux and Sharon Monceaux and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters; John "Kid" Smith, Jules A. Smith, Clesme P. Smith, Eva Smith Trahan and Julia Smith Colwart.
The Evangeline Funeral Home of St. Martinville, LA is in charge of arrangements.
