He was the son of the late Adam Smith and the late Angelle Watkins Smith. The brother of Adam Smith, III, Claiborne Smith, Lessin Smith, Paul Gilley Smith, Julien Smith, George Smith and Angeline Smith Clark who all predeceased him.
He leaves behind to mourn him, his children Jules Smith, Jr. and Howard Smith, both of Franklin, LA, Clarence Smith and Ronnie Smith, both of Coteau, LA and Floyd Marceaux of New Iberia, LA; Angeline Smith Savoie (Lawless) of Franklin, LA, Russa Smith Suire (Jesse) of Lake Arthur, LA.; one brother and his wife, Clesme and Evelyn Smith; one sister and her husband, Julia Smith Colwart and Louis Colwart of Schriever, LA; 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
