On June 10, 1898 Lillie married (and later divorced) Albert Rice Deckard in Webster, MO. MEMORIAL ID 128779097 They were the parents of Agnes Pearl (Deckard) Merris and Georgia Opal (Deckard) Owens She later married Horace Cornelius Bertram. She is listed on the US Census in 1930-40 as an inmate at the Dayton State Hospital. Those records incorrectly identify her as being born in Minn. and divorced. In 1927 she was granted a widows pension for her husband's service in the Spanish-American War.

Mrs. Lillie Deckard Bertram, 70, died Saturday at the Montgomery county home after a long illness. She was a native of Marshfield, Mo., Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Agnes Merris of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Mrs. Georgia Wade of New Orleans, La.; three sisters, Mrs. Sophia Bodenhammer of Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Josephine Blair of Stratford, Mo., and Mrs. Martha Napier of West Plains, Mo.; a brother, Charles Southerland (Sutherlin) of Los Angeles; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a. m. tomorrow at the Morris and Sons funeral home, 1809 East third street, with Rev. George R. Van Zant officiating. Burial, Fairfield cemetery..
