OBITUARY - The Sikeston Herald - March 30, 1950
James Henry Everhart was born at Mill Creek, Ill, in 1878 and died March 25 at his home in Perkins. Funeral services were held in the Baptist church at Perkins Monday afternoon. Burial was made in the Parma cemetery.

Mr. Everhart was known to many people in Oran. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Dovie Everhart; three daughters, three step-sons, one step-daughter, Mrs. Frank Menz of Oran, one brother and four sisters.

Father of Bessie Everhart Applebee, and Etta Janna Everhart Black (aka Link) Mallory and (3 other children not surviving);

Brother of Belle "Minnie" Kindred b.1883; Oscar b. 1886; Mary Jane Everhart Hileman b. 1889 (my grandmother); Bertha Alice Everhart Wilkerson Morris b. 1896; Duey Everhart b. 1898; William Arlie Everhart b. 1902; Lula "Pet" Everhart Johnson Rinkes b. 1904 ; Buck, Vadie and unknown male not surviving.

Cause of death, congestive heart failure. His grave in Parma City Cemetery is verified but unmarked at this time, 2021
