Bert Allen Ness, husband of Anna V. Warner Ness, Main Street, died at 4:10 pm yesterday in York Hospital where he was a patient for 24 days. He was 76.

Mr Ness was born in York township, a son of the late Emanuel and Elenora C. Lentz Ness. He was employed for 18 years by Colonial Products Company, Dallastown, having retired four years ago. He was a member of the S alem E. U. B. Church and Sunday School and Yoe Fire Company.

Surviving besides his widow are five daughters, Mrs. Elwood Godfrey, Mrs Harry Groff, Mrs Paul Jewell, Mrs Donald Flory, and Shirley Ness at home. 20 Grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a brother Harry Ness. Five sisters, Mrs Albert Eisensmith, Mrs Ross Diehl, Bessie Ness, Mrs Daisy Dickson, Mrs Denton Ferree and a step brother Raymond Kornbau.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday at the Austin Eberly Funderal Home of Dallastown His pastor, the Rev Robert H. Stolte, Hanover, a former pastor. Interment will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery York
