Thomas C was the eldest son born to Thomas Joseph (1836-1891) and Indiana Pogue (1840-1897) Adams. Siblings were Sally Adams Rothrock (1862-1938); John Fairplay Adams (1865-1948); and, Annie Indiana Adams Clarke (1868-1946).
After spending his youth in Ohio, he moved to Springfield, Illinois where his father was the superintendent at the Springfield Rolling Mill. Thomas C was employed at the Mill also. Thomas C and his father boarded for awhile at the St. Nicholas Hotel. Thomas C met and married Mary Emily Filp, daughter of Thomas and Nancy Jane Filp, in Springfield, Illinois in 1888. Thomas C and Mary had two children: Edward Montazuma Adams; and, Lillian Emily Adams Steiger.
Thomas C death: he drowned while duck hunting on the Sangamon River, near the old water works in Springfield on 27 Feb 1892. He was buried in a grave next to his father. His burial was on 28 Jun 1895.
