Bertha was born in S. Mahoning Twp., Indiana Co., PA, the daughter of Alphonsus Genere Gallentine and Evaline Coppick. Her death certificate shows her middle name to be "Evelyn," but I expect the spelling was "Evaline," after her mother. Bertha married Harry Lindsey Hone on November 30, 1910 in Plumville (S. Mahoning Twp.), Indiana Co., PA. She died in New Kensington, Westmoreland Co., PA.

Harry and Bertha were the parents of four children:
1. Earl Eugene Hone ***
2. Velma LaRue (Hone) Girts ***
3. Herman Louis Hone
4. Samuel Leslie Hone

***Note: Earl and Velma are enumerated in the 1910 census in S. Mahoning Twp., Indiana Co., PA, as Earl E. and Velma GALENTINE, grandchildren of A. G. and Evaline Galentine (Bertha, their mother, is listed in the household as single). In the 1920 census in Vandergrift, Westmoreland Co., PA, Earl and Velma HONE are enumerated as the children of Harry and Bertha Hone. So it appears that Earl and Bertha were the illegitimate children of Bertha, father unknown. Bertha Galentine and Harry Hone married in November 1910; Harry either adopted them or they just assumed the HONE surname. Birth records for both Earl and Velma have not been located.
