Jacob was a farmer, and owned a small homestead in Jones Mills, Westmoreland County, PA.. Being God Fearing folks,
Barbara and her family were members if The Evangelical Association Church of Westmoreland County.
As far as we can determine, Barbara was the only child of George Kring's family to have no children of her own.
Barbara and Jacob raised Mary Magdalena Kring, the youngest child of Daniel and Elizabeth (Fichtner) Kring, (Barbara's brother) from birth.
Elizabeth, as it was told, died giving birth to Mary or died shortly after Mary was born.
On Oct. 19, 1886, in Donegal, PA., Barbara passed away after a short illness, surrounded by family and friends.
