Frederick was born on Apr. 13, 1790, in Woodbury Twp., Bedford County, child bore to PA., he is the second child of George and Magdalenea Kring, of Bedford County, PA..
Frederick is the second generation of Kring's born in America.
In 1814, in Cambria County, PA., he married Elizabeth Stiener, Born Feb. 9, 1794, passed away Apr. 10, 1872, in South Bend
Frederick spent his whole life working as a farmer, it was his plan to have the best farm in the area. His first farm was in Summerset County, PA., He worked the farm for five years. Then he heard of land for sale in Ohio. He sold the farm in PA., he packed up the kids and traveled to Canton OH., and bought some land, and started farming. He worked the Ohio farm for adout five years, again he heard tales of better land in Indiana. At this point in his life, having ten children, a good farm in Ohio, did he want to move again? He thought back to his first farm in Somerset PA., thought of his goal to be the best. So,! He sold the farm, loaded up the kids, and moved to Indiana.
Indiana had some of the best land Frederick had ever seen. He bought a section of land in St. Joseph County and spent the rest of his days in South Bend.
On Sept.21, 1862, Frederick died at his home in South Bend , after a short illness, he was laid to rest in Rohrer Cemetery, South Bend.
You can still see the Kring farm. Today it is the Erskine Golf Course in South Bend. The Club House has built from the frame work of Kring's barn.
Frederick was the first Kring to come to the Mishiana area. Today, there are 2000 Krings living in the serrouding Countys.
