The family lived on a pioneer farm between Oxford and Winfield, Kansas. It is unknown to the family why Mary Anna is buried in Winfield and Thomas is buried in rural Trinidad, Colorado.
Mary Anna was a teacher, at the Pawnee Agency in Indian Territory, Oklahoma.
Died: At Pawnee Agency, Indian Territory on Tuesday, March 11th, 1884, Mrs. Mary A. Foster, wife of Thomas Foster, of Vernon, and for many years a member of the Mount Zion Baptist church.
