Last Rites For Mrs. Alvina Bruns

Funeral services will be held from Seydler-Hill Chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday for Mrs. Alvina Friedarica Bruns, 100, who died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday in the Holmes Community Hospital .

The Rev. Walter Lenz, pastor of the First Lutheran church, will conduct the rites with burial to be in the City cemetery.

Mrs. Bruns was born in Freiburg, Fayette County, on February 16, 1877, and observed her 100th birthday anniversary. She was the daughter of Otto and Freda Templin, natives of Germany and had resided in Gonzales since 1952, living at 1427 St Lawrence Street.

She was married to Louis Andrew Bruns on December 7, 1900 and was a life time member of the First Lutheran church. Her husband died July 8, 1946.

Survivors are two sons, Edwin F. and Robert Bruns, both of Gonzales; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, and a twin sister, Mrs. Frank Vrazel.
