Found Dead.
Frank Ast, a farmer living northwest of town was found dead in bed Tuesday morning. He had been helping in harvest the day previous, and was not making an appearance, his neighbors went after him and found him as described. Coroner Kidd and a jury went out and viewed the body, and at an inquest on Wednesday the jury brought in a verdict of death from heart failure. Deceased was born in Austria 39 years ago, and had been a resident of Ellis County 15 years. He was unmarried. The Ffneral services were held at the M.E. Church Wednesday morning conducted by Rev. J.C. Helmick.
Frank Ast was born in Illischestie, Bukovina, Austria (now Illisesti, Romania). His parents were Jacob Ast and Katharina Wendling. He emigrated to Ellis, KS in 1888 with his parents and siblings. He was single when he died.
