Joseph Jr. was the son of Joseph Croninger Sr. and his wife Elizabeth Hill.

Joseph married Barbara Speace before 1800 at Hempfield, Westmoreland, PA.

He was born about 1780 at Buffalo Valley, Northumberland, PA, and died before October 1837 in Euclid Twp, Cuyahoga Co, OH.

2. Jacob Croninger B-July 12 1809 in Westmoreland Co., PA, died June 24, 1900 in Wheatfield Twp, Ingham Co., MI in his widowed daughter Charlotte Warner's home. Jacob married Sarah Ann "Sally" Dodge on April 24, 1832 in Cuyahoga Co, OH at her sister XX Ambrose's home.

3. Jane B. Croninger B-about 1812 in PA and died June 24, 1900 in Wheatfield Twp., Ingham Co., MI. She married Joseph Fairbanks on December 8, 1831 in Wayne Co., MI.

4. Mary Ann Croninger B-abt. 1813-1814 in Wayne Co., OH, and died March 23, 1896 in Caledonia Twp., Kent Co., MI. She married William J. Barris on August 10, 1833.

5. Michael Croninger B-February 14, 1814 in Westmoreland Co., PA. He died July 3, 1896 in Cascade Twp., Kent Co., MI. Michael married Aurilla Bliss on October 14, 1839 in Euclid Twp, Cuyahoga Co, OH. He was buried in Whitneyville Cemetery, Kent, MI.

6. Daniel Croninger B-June 30, 1818 in Sugar Creek Twp., Wayne Co., OH. He died September 21, 1899 in Cascade Twp., Kent Co., MI. Daniel married Melissa L. Bliss on May 12, 1839. He was buried in Whitneyville Cemetery, Kent, MI.

7. Joseph Croninger (3rd) B-August 31, 1822 in Northampton Twp., Portage Co., OH. He died May 4, 1904 in Paris Twp., Kent Co., MI. Joseph married Martha S. Stewart on November 20, 1845. Buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, once known as "County Farm Cemetery", or Potter's Field.
