Mrs. D.C. Cassles, 83, prominent Hunt County woman and a resident of this section for more than 60 years, passed away at 9:45 o'clock Thursday (sic) morning at her family home in Mineral Heights. She had been in failing health for the psst seven years and last Thursday suffered a stroke of paralysis.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at the Neer and LyBrand chapel, conducted by Rev. J.P. Fleming pastor of Lee Street Methodist Church, assisted by Rev. Ira C. Kiker, pastor of Wesley Methodist church and Dr. W.L. Title (sic), pastor of Kavanaugh Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the family lot in the Concord cemetery at Jacobia.

Pallbearers will be: Walter Waddle, Carl Waddle, Roy Waddle, Arthur Waddle, Emmett Waddle, Charles Spradling, Otha Spradling, all of Jacobia, and J.R. Crawford of Crandall.

Mrs. Cassles, nee Mary Catherine Waddle, was born on August 3, 1854 at Columbus, Georgia, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wesley Waddle, who settled in the Jacobia community, north of Greenville, in December 1877.

On November 18, 1880 she was married to D.C. Cassles and they made their home in the Jacobia community until 1900 when they moved to Commerce to give their children the advantages of a College (sic) education. In 1903 the family moved to Greenville, where they resided until about 12 years ago when they moved to Mineral Heights, where she had since made her home.

Professing faith in Christ at an early age, Mrs. Cassles joined the Methodist church and remained a loyal Christian until her death. Upon moving to Greenville she placed her membership with the Lee Street Methodist Church and was active in the Master's work until her health began to fail a few years ago. Although unable to take an active part in church work during recent years, she maintained her wonderful Christian spirit and was deeply concerned regarding the various religious programs of her community.

Mrs. Cassles was one of the most beloved women of this section and throughout the more than 60 years she had resided in Hunt County she rendered a great service to her community. Possessed with an unselfish disposition, she was always ready to rally to the assistance of those in distress.

She was a devoted wife and mother and was always ready to make personal sacrifices for her loved ones and friends.

She is survived by three children: H.H. Cassles, E.Y. Cassles, and Miss Ethel Cassles, all of Greenville; five brothers, Dr. D.R. Waddle, of Greenville, John Waddle of Jacobia, Sanders Waddle, of Lone Oak, C.W. Waddle, of Abilene, H.A. Waddle, of Houston and one sister, Mrs. W.S. Gither (sic), of Greenville. Her husband preceded her in death in June 1931.
