FROSTBURG — Lydia J. (Bradburn) Reeves, 90, of Frostburg, died Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home. Born in Lonaconing, she was the daughter of the late Issac and Edna (Stevenson) Bradburn. She was preceded in death by her brother, Martin Bradburn and a sister-in-law, Mary B. Reeves , and Evelyn Bradburn.
Mrs. Reeves was a graduate from Western Maryland College. She was a retired teacher from the Allegany Public School System. She taught Home Economics at Braddock Middle School. She was a member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church, the Maplehurst Women's Golf Association, A. A. U. W., Frostburg Garden Club, and the Retired Teacher's Association.
Survining is her husband, Gerald E. Reeves, Frostburg; daughter and son in law Col. Jack and Barbara Shafferman, Lansing, Kansas; granddaughter, Jennifer Buhrman and husband Gerome; grandson, Jeffrey Shafferman; brother Jack Bradburn, Cumberland; and a sister Betty Fazenbaker, Lonaconing. (Betty passed away Thursday March 10, 2011 at the Egle Nursing Home, Lonaconing, Md.).
Friends were received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., Frostburg on Monday, July 13, 2009. Funeral Services followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Bernadette Ross officiating.
Memorial contributions were directed to the Frostburg United Methodist Church, 48 W. Main Street, Frostburg, Md. 21532.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, on Monday at 1 p.m.
Inurnment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
