EBLEN FUNERAL RITES THURSDAY

Cumberland - Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday for Mrs. William Eblen, 73, in the Cumberland Christian church with Rev. C. L. Shubert of Winterset, former Cumberland pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Victoria cemetery south of Massena. Sons-in-law will be casket bearers.

Mrs. Eblen died Sunday at a Council Bluffs hospital after suffering first, second, and third degree burns when her clothing ignited from a gas heater. She was at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Healey, in Council Bluffs at the time of the accident.

Mrs. Eblen was formerly Elnora DeVore and was born March 19, 1871 at Mt. Etna. Her parents were Andrew and Mary DeVore, and when she was a girl the family moved to the Cumberland vicinity. She was married to William Eblen at Atlantic September 14, 1892. She was a member of the Cumberland Christian church.

Mrs. Eblen is survived by Mr. Eblen; twelve children: Mrs. Minerva Moore, Carroll; Joshua Eblen and Mrs. Esther Worthington, both of Cumberland; Mrs. Maude Cullen, Adair; Dewey Eblen, of Huntington Park, California; Roy Eblen, Mrs. Bernice Bishop, Miss Blanche Eblen, and Mrs. Healey of Council Bluffs; Mrs. Mabel Dudley, Omaha; Perry Eblen, Oakland; Mrs. Nancy Norris, Griswold; two brothers: Earl DeVore in California; Clyde DeVore, Chicago; one sister, Mrs. Ola Johnson, Creston; 34 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
