Rudolph J. Kellerman, age 90, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Mt. Vernon, IL.

Rudolph was born on October 23, 1921 in Rice, IL, a son to William J. and Rosa F. (Ritter) Kellerman. On November 12, 1949, he married Ella Flure in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Todds Mill, IL and she survives. Rudolph was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WW II. Rudolph first worked as a mechanic for Luekers Implement and Keene Road Builders, Pinckneyville, IL, then later for Consol Burning Star #3 for 16 ½ years as a coal miner and mechanic. In his spare time, he liked to do mechanic work and could fix lawnmowers, weedeaters and pretty much anything with a motor, as well as, sharpening chain saw blades. His greatest love though was spending time with his family.

Rudolph is survived by his wife of 62 wonderful years, Ella Kellerman; his children, Dorothy (Willard) Schaudt of Cutler, IL, Barbara (Jerry) Denham of Centerville, GA, Mary (David) Stone of Pinckneyville, IL, Donna (Ron) Mann of DuQuoin, IL, Theresa (Don) Christenson of Jackson, MO, Rudy Kellerman of Greenville, NC, Margaret (John) Branum of Albion, IL, Jerome (Leanna) Kellerman of Edwardsville, IL, and Joan (Billy) Sutterer of Sparta, IL; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Kellerman of Pinckneyville, IL; three brothers, Wilbert Kellerman of Addieville, IL, Floyd (Doretha) Kellerman of Tamaroa, IL, and Harold (Kay) Kellerman of Pinckneyville, IL; one sister, Bernice Hagene of Pinckneyville, IL; twenty two grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis Kellerman; a granddaughter, Kristie Mann Henke; an infant great-grandson, Timothy Sheppard; a sister, Marcella Krisby; and three brothers, Carl Kellerman, Alfred Kellerman, and Cecil Kellerman.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. with Father Nick Junker officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery, Todds Mill, IL.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Tuesday, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m.

Military honors will be provided by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville, IL.

Memorials may be made to St. Bruno School, St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Cemetery, and Fresenius Medical Care North America Dialysis Services FMC DuQuoin, IL.
