Samuel Wells was born in Belzoni, MS; on May 25, 1911, to Sam and Bessie Wells. He was preceded in death by one son, Isadore Wells.

He attended grade and high school in Deovolente, MS. Samuel accepted Christ into his life at an early age.

He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. He was employed with Englander Mattress Co. and retired from the United States Post Office.

Samuel was united in holy matrimony to Eva Griffin on February 10, 1935. They moved to Chicago, IL; in 1941. To this union, three (3) sons were born, Samuel, Harvey, and Ronald.

Samuel departed this earthly life on February 9, 1994, after a long, extensive illness.

He leaves to his memory, his loving wife, Eva; one sister, Mrs. Henrene Clay of Chicago, IL; three sons, Samuel (Ella), Harvey, and Ronald of Chicago, IL; mother·in-law, Mrs. Fannie A. Griffin of Belzoni, MS; four granddaughters, Paulette Kelly, Rosalind Moss, Raquel Wells, and Veronica Wells; four great-grandchildren, Paulette Wells, Paul Kelly Andre Moss, and Patrick Moss; sister-in-law, Mrs. Alyce (L. W.) Clark of Jackson, MS; nine nieces, six nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
