Maude Ella Allison Rowles, 86 passed away on December 14, 2011 with her family by her side. A Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-8 pm on Monday, December 19, 2011 at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th St.. She was born on August 21, 1925 in Curwensville, Pennsylvania. Orphaned at an early age she worked various jobs, and lived in the homes of family members.

Maude was a proud veteran of WWII, having joined the Women's Army Air Corp in 1943. She became a medical assistant and worked with injured soldiers who returned to the United States to recuperate.

She moved with her husband and two children to Phoenix in 1950 where she focused on her primary interests of family and local school community service.

Her family continued to grow and includes her adult children Terry, Cheryll, Chuck, Joe, Melissa, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur.

Maude's life was noted for her sensitivity, kindness and her caring nature. She loved animals and wished for donations in lieu of flowers to be made to Arizona Animal Welfare League & SPCA, 30 N. 40th Place, Phoenix, AZ 85034. Phone 602/273-6852. Arrangements by Hansen Arrowhead Funeral Center.
