Ted, 100, local Stanley-Boyd area resident passed away peacefully at the Cornell Area Care Center, Cornell.
Ted was born in the town of Delmar, the son of Henry Sr. * Mary (Ramert) Geist. He grew up in the town of Delmar and attended area rural schools. He then farmed there, later marrying Evelyn Boisver at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cornell.
They lived and farmed in the town of Estella, rural Cornell where he also served on the local school board. They later purchased a farm in the town of Delmar where they farmed for many years and then moved to Boyd upon retirement, but still returned to the farm to help his son Neal who took over the farm. He truly enjoyed farming and the fruits of his labors.
Ted & Evelyn are the parents of Jean Rygiel, Geraldine (Frank) Kovacs, Janet (Sam) Pastorello, Phyllis (Gene) Ludvigsen, Neal (Jeanne) Geist, Dick (Linda) Geist and Darrel (Loreen) Geist.
Ted's sibligs include Mathilda Ramminger, Christine Wundrow, Agnes Barta, Frances Geist, Joseph Geist, Henry Geist Jr, Raymond Geist, Anthony Geist, & Genevieve Geist (an infant sister.
A Christian Burial Mass will be held on Jan. 16 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Boyd, with Fr. Robert Nelson officiating.
