BURNETT -- Erma Louise Miller Burnett, 1721 Doolittle Street, Bakersfield, Kern County, California. She died January 17, 1979, Bakersfield Memorial Hospital at the age of 58. She was born April 18, 1920, Marshfield, Coos County, Oregon. Daughter of Hal H. and May Miller, Eugene, Oregon. They preceded her in death, also sister, Lucille Bergman, Eugene, and brother Paul Miller, Cottage Grove. On June 1, 1973, at Bakersfield, California, she married William Newman Burnett, who survives, also brothers: Ralph and Herbert, Eugene, Lester Miller, Oceanside, California; sister, Rena Humphrey; nieces: Shirley Ebner, Carol Manis, Christie Ebner, all of Eugene, numerous nephews and friends. Member of Christian Science Church and Order of Easter Star, advisor to the Order of Rainbow Girls, chairman of the Bakersfield Civic Music Association for a number of years. She graduated from University High school, class of 1938, Eugene, entered the University of Oregon, graduated from the University Business College in business education. Later in Bakersfield worked at Atlantic Richfield Oil for 30 years, entered night school and received a degree from Bakersfield Junior College, 1959. She was in Eugene, August 1978 for the University High and Eugene High School 40th reunion. Memorial services were held at Bakersfield Mortuary Chapel, Saturday, January 20, 1979 with services by Christian Science Church and Order of Eastern Star. Cremation followed. Donations can be made to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
