Reino R. Nissila, 80, a longtime resident of the Virginia-Buhl area, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2001, in the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home in Menahga, Minn.

He was born Feb. 10, 1921, in Menahga to William K. and Edla Johanna (Salo) Nissila. He married Margaret M. Downer on March 17, 1951, in Hubbard, Minn. He was a journeyman electrician, working on construction throughout Northern Minnesota. He was a longtime member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was an Army veteran, serving as a nurse in Northern Africa in World War II.

He is survived by two sons, Rodney R. and Milo S. Nissila; a daughter, Cora Nissila; six grandchildren, Stacy, Jesse, Jackie, David, Julie and Steve; a great-grandson; three brothers, Clarence (Ann) Nissila, Harold Nissila and Ernest (Elsie) Nissila; three sisters, Sally Jurva, Linda (Mike) Colalillo and Elsie (Sidney) Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret, in 1996; and three sisters, Gertrude Pulju, Allie Thomas and Lila Perkins.

Burial in Lakeview Cemetery in Buhl.
