Darlene LaVon Agee, 88, died Sunday, December 18, 2011, at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House, from cancer.

Darlene was born July 5, 1923, to Dewey and Nettie Renshaw in Dallas Center. She attended Heritage Assembly of God Church, and enjoyed gardening and cooking. Her greatest joy came from raising her family and spending time with them.

Darlene is survived by her children, Pat Hastie of Boone, Gary (Jeannie) Agee, Sherry (Larry) Young, and Doug (Vicki) Agee, all of Des Moines; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Don (Jean) Renshaw of Granger; sister, Joan (Roy) Rogers of Conway, MO; and a host of other family and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; James L. Agee; brother, Robert Renshaw; and sister, Louise Tuttle.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 121 NW 60th Avenue, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
