William L. Welch, 79, of Akron died Saturday (July 31, 1982), in a hospital at Akron after a long illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Rev. Stanley Stone will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Akron with graveside military rites conducted by Hoschler post 186, American Legion. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Monday in the Schroeder Funeral Home.
Mr. Welch was born April 10, 1903, at Westfield. He farmed for 50 years near Westfield before retiring to Akron in 1973.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus at Sioux City for more than 50 years.
Survivors are four brothers, Frank, Emmet, Jesse and Ray, all of Akron.
