Mr. Barber was a son of Sidney and Maude Barber. He owned and operated his own farm for 25 years, worked part-time for the US Post Office for 30 years, worked as a custodian at the former Bliss Elementary School for more then 10 years and was town justice for the Town of Eagle for 45 years and was named NY State Magistrate of the year in 2007. He also made maple syrup on his farm for many years.
His wife, Patricia W. (Smith) Barber, whom he married in Bliss April 17, 1946, died Feb. 12, 2005.
He is survived by 3 sons, Dan (Donna) Barber, Mark (Cynthia) Barber and Steven (Susan) Barber; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 3 brothers, Claude, Edgar and Floyd Barber and 2 sisters, Hazel Lester and Gladys Ford.
