Violet Izella Miller, 58, died December 30, 1998, at the Scott County Hospital. Born in Scott County, she was the daughter of the late Jake and Flora Jeffers Harness. In addition to her

parents, she was preceded also in death by two sisters, Foltella Harness and Trucilla Angel; and her first husband, Henry Newport. She is survived by her husband, Dewey Miller of Huntsville; one son, Benny Newport and wife, Joy, of the Pine Hill community; six daughters: Derita Phillips and husband, Bill, of the Pine Hill community, Sharon Newport and Keith of Huntsville, Henrietta Newport, Lavon Lawson and husband, Jimmy, and Donna Miller, all of Helenwood, and Lisa Griffith and Donnie of the Tunnel Hill community; 10 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one brother, Ronnie Harness and wife, Ann; four sisters: Faye Lowe and husband, Ledford, Geraldine Crabtree and husband, Charles, Joyce Bowling and husband, Jimmy, and Francine Keeton; special aunt, Flossie Marcum and husband, Elmer; special uncle, Floyd Jeffers and wife, Minnie; several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives. Funeral service was conducted January 1, 1999, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home. Graveside service was conducted January 2, 1999, in the Winona Cemetery.
