Fredric Philip Stephan was born on March 26, 1821 in Lampertheim, Hesse-Darmstadt. His father Adam Stephan b1778 was 42 and his mother Mary Steffan was 33. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church shown to the right. This Lutheran Church is where the Stephan's attended & were Buried for generations in the Church Graveyard. (Apparently I am Not Allowed to show the Church) My G/grandfather Adam Stephan came over on the Ship - Trimdon with Philip in the summer of 1832, so no doubt they grew up together in Lampertheim, Hessen, Germany. He married Caroline Henrietta Schmidt on July 8, 1843 in New York. They had nine children in the 20 years between 1844 and 1864, all of them are listed below. He passed away on May 16, 1899 in Buffalo, New York having lived a long life of 78 years. He is this writers 3rd Cousin albeit 3 times removed. We have the same ancestor in Johan Philip Stephan of 1681.
Additional Information regarding their dau Margaret:
"She and her husband owned a farm adjoining her parents. Her husband Allen (Kennedy) died 10 years after their marriage - probably as a result of Civil War injuries. He served in the engineer corps of the Northern Army and built pontoon bridges for advancing troops. Margaret was left with 3 young children and the farm to manage. She nursed her son Harry through a major accident (he was hit by a RR engine and carried on the cattle-guard for several hundred yards before falling into a deep ditch). She also nursed her daughter Carol through a bout of scarlet fever which left her with permanent heart damage no doubt contributing to her early death.
