From Steve Hoyt: Gerald David Yakish, 41, a Lone Tree native, died Oct. 24 at his home in Hickory Hills near Davenport.

Services and burial were in Davenport. He was born March 11, 1938, in Lone Tree, a son of Harold and Beulah Yakish. He attended Lone Tree schools. He married Mary Pechman in 1961 in Hills.

He was president of the Yakish Realty Co. in Davenport. He was a member of St Andrew's Catholic Church, in Blue Grass, and was formerly a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Davenport

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Mark, Gregory, Joseph and John, all at home; one daughter, Colleen, at home; his mother Beulah Stych of Lone Tree; four brothers, Robert and Richard of Lone Tree, James of Solon, and Michael of Iowa City; and two sisters, Mrs. Alvin (Annette) Clevenger of Davenport and Mrs. Richard (Deanna) Kreuger of Lone Tree. : He was preceded in death by his father.
