After being widowed at the age of forty-two, her second husband was Enoch Curran of Ripley County, Indiana. They were married for twenty-five years until his death in 1910. After his death, she returned to Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, residing with her daughter Adeline.
In her later years, she signed her name as "S. E. Curran".
Sophronia lived to the age of 93 and at the time of her death, resided in her Victorian house at 3120 Gloss Avenue in Pleasant Ridge, Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. This house was then inherited by her niece, Ruth McMakin Keener, her husband William M. Keener and then their son and only child Bill. Ruth and her family resided in the house for seventy-three years until the death of Bill.
Sophronia is buried beside her first husband in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio.
