Harlow O. Clarke, 76, R. 2, Janesville, a member of a pioneer Rock County family, died Monday morning, April 18, in Mercy Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, in the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church, Rev. Elmo Randolph officiating with burial in the Milton Cemetery.

Born in Milton Sept. 27, 1889, he was the son of Irving Benton and Rosella Osborne Clarke. He was graduated from Milton high school and attended Milton Academy. He was pitcher for the Milton high school baseball team which won the state championship in 1910.

Mr. Clarke and Hilda A. Ambrose were married Jan. 29, 1913. He was employed at Parker Pen Company, Janesville, until his retirement in 1958. He was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church, Milton.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Harlow R. of Westminster, Calif., and Duane R. of Whitewater; five daughters, Mrs. Anna Schiefelbein and Mrs. George Starks, both of Janesville, Mrs. Donald Kramer of Beloit, Mrs. Glen Howard of R. 3, Janesville, and Mrs. Lloyd Wincapaw of Rockford; 29 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy of Fergus Falls, Minn., and Howard in California.
