Mardelle Ann Hickey, 87, of Rice Lake passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Country House Assisted Living in Oconto, WI. Mardelle was born on December 2, 1924 to Earl and Loretta Bollman. She graduated from Rice Lake High School , Rice Lake Normal School and Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire and went on to teach school many years in Barron County. She married Delmont Hickey on June 28, 1950 at Our Lady of Lourdes in Dobie, WI. Delmont preceded her in death on February 7, 1999.
She survived by: son Mike Hickey of Missoula, MT (Carol Mckeen of Kingston, ON), his two sons Ryan (Aarika) of Maui, HI and Scott of Bozeman, MT; and son Tom (Susie Neubert) of Green Bay, WI. She is further survived by 1 brother Donald (Gloria) Bollman of Rice Lake, 1 sister Shirley Krych of Blaine, MN (a Viking Fan…God forbid). Mardelle was preceded in death by four siblings: Irene Haughian, Dorthy Frolick, Ruth Van Helden and Genevieve Van Helden.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, April 26, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church- Rice Lake with Father Dave Oberts officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Skinner Funeral Home in Rice Lake and for 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
