Cletis Perry Pinkerton, 73, of Easton, Md., formerly of Oak Hill, died Nov. 20, 2008, at Memorial Hospital in Easton, from pulmonary disease and pneumonia.

Born Nov. 9, 1935, in Willis Branch, he was the son of the late Ray and Lena Foster Pinkerton. A brother, Dennie Pinkerton, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Pinkerton served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954-1957 and was a graduate of the University of Charleston with B.S. in Business Management.

Cletis was a former Engineering Department employee for Long-Airdox in Oak Hill and was a retired general manager for MTI in Mentor, Ohio.

He and his wife attended the Church of the Nazarene when residing in Oak Hill.

Surviving: his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Muriel Preece Pinkerton; daughter and son-in-law, Taunya and Michael Bowen of Greensboro, Md.; son, Timothy Pinkerton of Richmond, Texas; grandchildren, Jeremy Bowen of Greensboro, Jason Bowen and fiancee Jessica Banzet of Hillsboro, Md., Vicki McFarland and husband Shane of Houston, Texas, and Timothy Pinkerton and fiancee Alicia Hanna of New Boston, Texas; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Bowen of Denton, Md., and Zach and Alex McFarland of Houston; sisters, Linda Crosier of Matthews, N.C., and Peggy Greer of Ferrum, Va.; brothers, Jerry and Ronnie Pinkerton, both of Cedar Bluff, Va., and Joey Pinkerton of Ferrum; special sister-in-law, Charlotte Pinkerton; special nephew, Dennie Pinkerton Jr. of Howey In The Hills, Fla.; and special granddaughter-in-law, Kristy Bowen of Denton.

Funeral services were Nov. 26 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Gene A. Bowen officiating. Burial followed at Montgomery Memorial Park in London.
