Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Bernardita and Filomeno Aguilar, sisters, Marianita "Mary" Aguilar, Rita García and her spouse, Ernest "Ernie" García, Amalia "Molly" Navarro and brothers, Hipolito, Cayetano and Filomeno "Edward" Aguilar.
Leroy is survived by two brothers, Filimon and his wife, Alice of Bernalillo and Raymond and his wife, Sylvia of Fountain Valley, CA, one sister, Genevieve "Jennie" and her husband, Gilbert Sandoval of Jemez Springs, his long time trusted friend and companion, Algene Herrick and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and customers.
Leroy served his country in the United States Army stationed in Germany as a medic. Leroy was an acclaimed hair stylist for over 40 years owning his own business, Hair Styles by Leroy. Leroy not only enjoyed working as a hair stylist he also enjoyed gardening, baking, stream fishing and raising his chickens. Leroy will be remembered for his strong character, guidance, sense of humor and quick wit. Those who were closest will miss him greatly.
Mass will be celebrated in his honor on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 301 Camino del Pueblo, Bernalillo, with Father Stephen Imbarrato. Interment will follow at Bernalillo Cemetery, Bernalillo. Pallbearers will be Ron Aguilar, Ernest García, Hipolito Aguilar, Matthew Aguilar, Anthony Navarro and Gilbert Sandoval. All nieces and nephews will have the privilege of being honorary pallbearers.
