Willie James Anderson, age 90, passed to glory on May 23, 2012. He was born in Cameron to John Henry and Emma Juanita Anderson on Jan. 20, 1922.
He was a graduate of Prairie View A&M University where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in political science.
Willie J. was employed as a public school teacher for more than 35 years. His tenure included 29 years in the Tyler Independent School District until his retirement in 1986.
Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that a donation be sent to the Prairie View A&M University general scholarship fund in the name of Willie J. Anderson (please note this in memo section of check).
