Viola Belle Chandler, daughter of John William and Viola Jane Parris Booher, was born in rual Taylor County, Iowa November 20,1894. She was a resident of the Mount Ayr Health Care Center. She married Vernon Marty Chandler and to this union four children were born. Victor, Everett Wayne, Roberta Maxine, and Wilma Captola. Viola and Vernon lilved near Eagleville, MO., later moving to Des Moines, Iowa before settling in Athelstan, Iowa. Viola was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She devoted her life working as a homemaker and a practical nurse. In her later years she cared for the elderly in their homes. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Viola, her husband Vernon, her son Everett, and her daughter, Wilma, two grandsons, Jerry Chandler and Lowell Rusco, six brothers, George, Guy, Paul,James, John and Charles Booher; five sisters,Carrie, Dora, Madge, Mary and Christa and twins who died in infancy that were not named.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Victor Chandler of Mt. Ayr, Iowa, her daughter Roberta Maxine Rusco of Bedford, her brother, Virgil Booher of Grand Juction Co.; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Viola Belle Chandler. 94 Athelstan, were held Nove 13, 1989 at Shum-Novinger funeral home officated by Paster Len Green. Burial was in Athelstan Cemetery, Athelstan, Iowa. Mrs. Chandler died Nov. 8, 1989 in Mt. Ayr. Iowa.
