Lucius E. Marchand, 86; retired railroad storekeeper

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Davis Funeral Home for Lucius E. Marchand, 86, of 2932 Hudson Ave., who died of a heart ailment Monday morning at his home.

Mr. Marchand, known as "Mark," was born May 26, 1903, in Newell, Pa., a son of Samuel and Mary Marchand. He was a storekeeper for the P. & L. E. Railroad from 1920 to 1971. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Presbyterian Church, the National Rifle Association and Sportsman Bowling League.

His wife, the former Virginia Carroll, whom he married May 25, 1924, died Aug. 2, 1988.

He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Thom of Boardman and Mrs. Gladys Turner of Fort Myers, Fla.; a son, Lucius A. of Las Cruces, N.M.; two brothers, Louis and Clyde, both of Newell, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Jane Evans of Newell, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren..

A sister, Mrs. Ruth Komer, and a brother, Samuel, are deceased.
