Mrs. Purla Brockington Cooper, 86, widow of William James Cooper of Nesmith, died early Wednesday in a Williamsburg County hospital after an illness of three weeks.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Nesmith Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Morris Funeral Home, will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Cooper was a daughter of the late B. F. and Sarah Cooper Brockington of Nesmith. She was a charter member of Nesmith Baptist Church, the W M U and Ladies Adult Sunday School Class of her church.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Belser Cooper of Litchfield Beach, William James Cooper Jr. of Nesmith; a daughter, Mrs Leroy (Willa Mae) Prosser of Nesmith; a sister, Mrs. Blondell Anderson of Savannah, Ga.; two half-brothers, Bobbie Brockington and Clyde Brockington, both of Jacksonville, Fla., and 10 grandchildren.
