Jimmy Dan Kendrick, 77, of Vivian, LA passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2012 after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday, July 20, 2012 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian officiated by Rev. Barry Carter assisted by Rev. H.L. Kendrick. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Vivian. There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, the 19th from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Jimmy was born October 1, 1934 in Vivian. He served his country in the Navy and the Air Force where he earned the rank of Staff Sargent. He worked as a carpenter until he retired.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; Denson Elbert and Edith Mae Hughes Kendrick, his son Alan Glenn Godwin, his brothers; Denson Elbert Kendrick Jr., Bobby Rachel Kendrick, Jerry Lamar Kendrick and Ronald Ray Kendrick, and his sister; Christine Kendrick Wynne. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Renee Alewine and husband Curtis Wayne Alewine of Chapin, S. C., his grandsons; Matthew Lawren Godwin of Lexington, S.C., Alan Wayne Alewine of Chapin S.C., and Michael Lamar Alewine of Chapin, S.C., his brother Donnie Kendrick and wife Pauline of DeVille, LA and his sisters; Janet Williams and husband Bill of Mira, LA and Marie Barfoot and husband Jerry of Vivian, TX.

Pallbearers will be Kerry Kendrick, Jerry Kendrick Jr., Billy Williams, Tony Campbell, Wayne Kendrick and Craig Kendrick. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Wall, Chuck Kendrick, Jeremiah Kendrick, Richard Williams, Damon Donnell, Lee Stevens and Dan Hill.
