Evaline was one of the ten children of Joseph Wallace Bires and Phoebe Alton Bires. She was the sister of Mary Jane, Willis, Allisa, Phoebe June, Adeline , Laura,Josephine, Willard, and Joseph Wilford.

She married William C Northcott on the 28th of July , 1883 . They lived in the Town of Fountain, Juneau, Wisconsin and raised their sons Leonard William, Charles H, W, A., and Robert Bertram "Bert".

Sometime after the death of her husband William in 1909, she moved out to San Bernadino where her son Bert lived, and ultimately, died there.
