Eugene G. Pearson, a Standard Oil Co. refinery worker who had completed 30 years continuous service with the company, died Sunday at 5 p.m. in Barnes Hospital, St. Louis. His home was in Rosewood Heights.

He had been a patient in the hospital during his fatal illness for eight days, but had been there previously for treatment.

Mr. Pearson was born July 28, 1890 at Belleville, and was married Oct. 1, 1909 at Edwardsville to Miss Emma Hebenstreit.

He had resided at Staunton and Carlinville before moving to Wood River area 21 years ago.

Surviving are his widow; three sons, Robert D., of Alton; Walter A., of Rosewood Heights; and Pfc. Eugene, stationed at Camp Cooke in California; four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Schulte, of Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Ruth M. Pointer and Mrs. Iva Rose, of Alton; and Mrs. Norma Stassi, of Wood River. He also leaves a brother, Paul (Pearson) Flaxbeard, of Council Bluffs, Ia.; and 16 grandchildren.

Funeral rites were conducted in Marks mortuary, Wood River.

Burial was in Zion Lutheran cemetery, Carlinville.
