Thelma L. Howard, 85, Crawfordsville and formerly of Wingate, died 12:35 p.m. Wednesday in Williamsburg Health Care Center.

Mrs. Howard was a homemaker. She was an Alamo High School graduate. She was a Smartsburg Christian Church member.

She was born May 15, 1915, at Fairmount, Ill., to Harvey L. and Goldia E. See Runyon. She married Jesse E. Howard on Oct. 5, 1935. He died Jan. 22, 1995.

Survivors include one son, Donald W. Howard, Wingate; four daughters, Donna Sue Pruett, Linda L. Cope and Jane E. Armstrong, all of Crawfordsville, Betty L. Light, New Market; two brothers, George Runyon, Ft. Worth, Tex., Gerald Runyon, Clay City; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown, with the Rev. Paul Remick officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery, Waynetown. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Smartsburg Christian Church.
