Ben A. Rasmussen, age 77, passed away Jan. 15, 2001 in a Salt Lake hospital of complications due to diabetes and cancer.

Born June 20, 1923 in Mt. Pleasant, UT, to Arthur Freeman and Jennie Eunice Peel Rasmussen. Married Edna Valene Robison April 25, 1951 in Coeur d'Alene, ID. He was a veteran in World War II and served with Patton's 3rd Army. Retired manager of the installation division of the Western Electric Company.

He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and enjoyed spending time with his family at their cabin in Island Park which he and his family built. He was an avid fisherman and camper. He was very mechanical and enjoyed fixing almost anything.

He shared his time freely with his neighbors and friends.

Survivors: wife; son, Craig A.; daughter-in-law, Julie Rasmussen; one brother, Wallace (Norma); sisters, Sarah Anderson, Katherine (Bill) Ritz, Gene (Willard) Young, Dorothy Smith, Norma (Lee) Anderson. Preceded in death by a son, Arthur D; sisters, Iris Peterson, Leone Rasmussen and Edna Larson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 19, 2001 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, Murray where friends may call Friday from 1:30-2:15 at the Mortuary. As per Ben's wishes cremation will follow services.

In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions to Kidney Foundation of Utah, 3707 North Canyon Rd., Provo, UT 84604.
